Degree Show Prep

On thursday all three pathways of my course (Mixed Media, Constructed and Printed Textiles) starting prepping the big exhibition hall for our degree show which starts next friday. This involved a Dulux van load of white paint and a lot of staples removal! it's pretty much a perfect blank canvas now for everyone to start hanging their work this week in their own spaces.

I went to a house the other day, and this knocker was on the front door. I was pretty jealous of it!

My friend works in Vera Moda in Leicester, so when I went in to visit her I took these sneaky photos of their scarves. There were some really lovely prints, I wish I could buy a few of them. It made me want to design a range of scarves.

The end of an era

Today was my last ever day in the print studio at university. I was only helping a friend finish off her work today but it felt strange knowing I'd never get to use the amazing facilities again at De Monfort uni. Tomorrow is the start of our prep for the degree show which starts next week.

Busy Bee

I made this cushion yesterday for a friend...

I also made a few more t-shirts for the last time for 88 Miles Per Hour who have a gig at Lock 42 in Leicester this friday.

Prototype sneak peak

Here's a little sneaky peak at an iphone sleeve experiment I made yesterday. Includes a hand screen printed owl that you may recognise!

Twit Twooo

I got a lovely surprise package through the post today from my Grandma, an owl shopper bag to keep in your handbag. For as long as I can remember we've always bought each other owl related presents! Along with my Mum she's taught me everything I know about birds. Thanks Doris! xxxx

Special Delivery!

All my long awaited packages arrived finally today. I've been pretty excited about these! I've got two sets of postcards, mini business cards in 9 different designs and two books of stickers. Some are intended for Folksy use and others as a textile designer.
I got the business cards and stickers from moo.com, their packaging is lovely, although unnecessary excess packaging is a pet hate of mine.
I can't wait to use them now!

Special Delivery!

I went to the Riverside Festival in Leicester this weekend and made this new friend 'Bob'! Saw some great local live music too.
