Owl Bicycle Basket

I was recently asked to produce one of my purple owl print baskets to fit inside a bicycle basket for a push bike. It was tricky to work out certain bits and bobs but I came to the decision that the more ties on it the better! So that it fits nice and securely into the bike basket.

The basket features 8 ribbon ties to fasten it to the inside of the bike basket.

It also still has my usual basket handles so that it can be removed and used as a bag also!

It is winging it's way to Germany as a present already!

Saltaire Arts Trail | Alexia Claire

At the beginning of May I took part in the Maker's fair at the Saltaire Arts Trail. It was my first time taking part although I have visited it many times and always wanted to have a stall here. It was a great experience and everyone did very well. I saw some familiar faces and made new maker friends too. I'll be back next year!

I have a newsletter that you can sign up to now, you will receive a free how to guide for printing from your own home, with easily found materials.

I had lots of lovely compliments from people passing by about my basket - plant combo. My baskets make great plant holders!

Don't forget you can get any of my laptop sleeves custom made to fit your laptop size. Or maybe you want an iPad or Kindle cover? No problem! Go and take a peek

Alexia Claire at ReetSweet Sheffield

A couple of months ago I had a stall at the ReetSweet Sheffield event in the Millenium Gallery. It was a great venue with an awesome selection of designer makers. The sun beamed through the enormous windows all day and there was a very steady flow of visitors. I would definitely do it again!

My new printed tote bags all sold out! They definitely went down well. Look out for more of these in my Folksy and Etsy Shops.

I tried a new fan shape display of my baskets this time.

This was the lovely Moonko's stand. Debbie of Moonko won the best stall of the day. It was my first time meeting her but we have been talking for quite some time and my work is featured on the Moonko Website.

ReetSweet Valentines Fair

Exactly a month ago was Valentines day, and I was part of the ReetSweet craft fair at the Corn Exchange in Leeds that weekend. I love doing ReetSweet craft fairs, the organiser is so friendly and runs the events without any hitches. Their website is pretty amazing too! I had a good day here and had a few friendly visitors who'd come to see me and I made new friends too!

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Right folks, tonight is your last night to order anything from my online shops to receive it in time for Mother's Day! If you order tonight I can post them first class tomorrow. Easy Peasy. So if you have any last minute gifts to buy, get cracking!

Don't forget that my handmade fabric baskets (above) found in my shop make the perfect gift bag, which your mum can re-use for whatever she desires instead of throwing away a paper one!

Custom Laptop Sleeve

For those of you who might not know, not only do I sell MacBook sleeves in my shop, I make custom laptop sleeves for any size, this includes Kindles and ipads. I will always try my best to make the sleeve you want and this was my most specific briefing yet (apart from my own Alexia Claire branded one of course!) It was for one of the Directors at Snapshot Media, the digital media agency based in Leeds for his MacBook air. Maintaining the company's brand colours and featuring their logo!

Here is my own personal laptop sleeve - I've had a couple of questions about it on the train now and then!

Other laptop sleeve designs I have done can be found in my shop.

Handmade Laptop Sleeves

I have been making laptop sleeves for quite a while now but never got around to listing my silk screen printed sleeves online. Well now here they are! You can buy through my Etsy or my Folksy shop. The ones listed are all for a 13" MacBook as that is the laptop I have. I do however make sleeves for different sized laptops, all you've got to do is drop me a message with your exact dimensions and chosen design and I can take it from there! Email me at alexia@alexiaclaire.com. They are padded and have a toggle fastening. Here are a couple examples.

A ReetSweet Christmas Craft Fair!

All this weekend I will be selling my handmade and hand printed gifts at the ReetSweet Christmas Craft Fair! It will be in the Corn Exchange in Leeds and there will be lots of lovely designer makers selling there too. So if you are local then pop down and have a look!

ReetSweet is a brilliant organisation for events such as this, determined to transform the image of handmade items.

"By handpicking only the very best contemporary and fashionable crafts made to the highest quality you will find nothing else like it – our mission is to promote the new wealth of craft talent that has come to the fore in the last few years online, and instead and allow you to shop their work in person – keeping things local! We host our events in fun locations where you can spend the day shopping away from luxury brands, empty shops, pound shops, and big chains, relax and find something really special made by hand in the North and meet the makers!" - Rebecca @ ReetSweet
