About Me

My name is Alexia Swirkowski and I work under the name Alexia Claire and specialising in screen-printing after completing a BA (Hons) in Printed Textiles at De Montfort University. I developed a love for creating nature based drawings and translating these into fun and quirky surface pattern designs for various end uses including interior fabrics, cards and wrapping paper, fashion fabrics and products.

My inspirations are taken from the natural world surrounding me, having always being intrigued by all creatures great and small since being a little girl.

I was chosen by my university to exhibit at New Designers 2011. Part of my exhibited range of fabrics I made into baskets and cushions, which received positive interest; I was runner up for the BCFA Award. The progression from exhibiting there to creating my own printed product range felt completely natural, and I am excited to further my collection to wrapping paper, greetings cards and stationery. I am also a freelance textile and surface designer available for freelance work for many end uses, to see my portfolio or work visit my website at www.alexiaclaire.com
